Did you know-
That God was the first to ever reveal a "lie detector"? Yes it's true! In Numbers chapter 5 verse 19-22, Moses writes,
"The priest shall have her take an oath and shall say to the woman, “If no man has lain with you and if you have not gone astray into uncleanness, being under the authority of your husband, be immune to this water of bitterness that brings a curse; 20 if you, however, have gone astray, being under the authority of your husband, and if you have defiled yourself and a man other than your husband has had intercourse with you” 21 (then the priest shall have the woman swear with the oath of the curse, and the priest shall say to the woman), “the LORD make you a curse and an oath among your people by the LORD making your thigh waste away and your abdomen swell; 22 and this water that brings a curse shall go into your stomach, and make your abdomen swell and your thigh waste away.” And the woman shall say, “Amen. Amen.”"

Understanding God's Grace!

Since grace is unmerited favor and what God does is based on this grace, we should not think that we could somehow obtain it through works (human effort). Works (human effort) and grace cannot work simultaneously! Wherever one is present there is the absence of the other.
I think that this is one of the hardest truths to understand. Many believers struggle with the same obstacle that the believers in Galatia did. The apostle Paul rebuked the believers in Galatia for thinking that salvation began with grace and then the right to keep it was to be earned (Gal 3).

King David was the most beautiful example of God's grace at work in the believer's life. David had sinned greatly for over a span of a year, he had committed adultery, he murdered Uriah the Hittite and many of the front line soldiers and yet king David could still say, "If you Lord should mark the iniquities (sins), O Lord, who could stand? BUT there is forgiveness with you, that you may be reverently trusted" (Ps 130:3-4).
King David was said to be by the Lord Himself, "a man after God's own heart". This was because he truly understood the GRACE of God. The Lord God LOVED him even though he failed miserably. And why? Because it is on the BASIS OF GRACE not on human effort! GRACE heaped upon GRACE!
Now that doesn't mean that we have a license to sin. It simply means that God saves us according to the finished work on the cross that His Son accomplished on our behalf! As sons and daughters of God the Father we are disciplined when we err, so as not to conform to the world, but rather to the image of Christ His Son!

According to Jewish tradition, one of the names for the Messiah is "Light." How fitting, then, that Jesus is called the "Light of the world." John's Gospel portrays Jesus as the light that vanquishes the darkness brought on by sin — a darkness that ends in death. Christ has opened the eyes of a sin-darkened world to the truth of the gospel. We who believe in him have moved from darkness to light, from death to life. When we pray to Jesus as the Light of the world, let us remember that we are calling on the One who was so determined to draw us into his light that he spent nine months in the darkness of his mother's womb in order to become one of us. Let us ask Jesus, our Light, to make us shine with his reflected glory.

Isaiah 57:15
"I refresh the humble and give new courage to those with repentant hearts."
I have learned that the most profound statements usually rise up out of the simplest questions.
I had asked, what I thought was a very simple question to a friend one day over lunch. My question to my friend was "how long have you been a Christian? Seems simple enough, right? Well. the answer I had received back from her was absolutely profound... Her answer to my question was - "well, I have been a Christian all my life, but I have only been a believer for about 2 years."
Just as Jesus said, "out of the mouth of babes..."
You see, what was so profound was the fact that she realized that to be a christian simply meant that she believed that God exists based on her up bringing and the stand our country has held since its conception, but to have a personal relationship with His Son (Jesus, Yeshua) was unequivocally another thing.

Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy! I look to you for protection.
I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings until the danger passes by. I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me. He will send help from heaven to rescue me, disgracing those who hound me.
My God will send forth his unfailing love and faithfulness. (Psalm 57:1-3 NLT)
Regardless of What is happening in the world or our personal lives today, God has a purpose for our lives. Don't worry about the fact that currently there are approx. 7 billion people on the planet leaving one to think who am I in God's sight? Each of us are created unique not only in our outward appearances but more complex in our individual DNA makeup. Man did not create us nor did we come into being through a evolutionary chain of events. God's hand designed us to be who we are and with individual purposes.
