Rev DebEXAMINING SCRIPTURE
A passage I believe that has been misunderstood in terms of salvation is found in Hebrews 6:4-11. Some have taken this to mean that a believer can fall from their steadfast relationship with Christ to a point of being lost. As you have perhaps taken note already from part 1 of this message, that I do not believe a believer can alter their relationship with Christ, as there was nothing on their/our part to deserve it in the first place.

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (1 Cor 1:9)
All Christians believe that salvation is the most important doctrine of the bible. It is just as important that we understand what the correct doctrinal teaching is, rather than placing preconceptions into the text.
Once a person comes to faith in Christ he/she is immediately brought into a permanent relationship with God as His child. This can NEVER be severed!!! At this moment of conversion, the believer also comes into a living organic union with Christ and becomes FOREVER united to Him as His bride; thus becoming "Bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh" (Eph. 5:30-32 K.J.V). Believers are then mystically united to each other as members into the ONE body of Christ's (1 Cor. 12:12-14)!!

THE ARK OF BULRUSHES
Last wee

k we learned about Noah's ark; this week we turn to Moses and the ark of bulrushes. When Moses was just an infant, king Pharaoh sent out an edict to have all Israelite male babies killed. Moses is perhaps, one of the greatest types of Christ in the word of God. From his lowly birth, the virtual silence of his adolescence, his adulthood, his being raised up to lead Israel, his priesthood, his ministry and so on... These are just a few that make Moses' life such an important study!

With all the talk in the news about the ark of the covenant, I thought it would be God timely to teach on the different arks in the Scriptures.
There are three arks that the bible mentions.

1. The Ark Noah's

2. The Ark Of Bulrushes
3. The Ark Of The Covenant
The 1st ark was built by a man and made of gopher wood. The 2nd ark was built by a woman and made of bulrushes. These two are given the same Hebrew word "tebah", which means "chest or box for keeping valuables safe". (Gen. 6; Exod. 2)

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
We found out last week that the word "head" (Grk. Kaphale), does not carry our modern definition of "being in charge, boss, leader or a hierarchical position." But rather, it actually means source as in "origin, where something originates from."

We ended last week asking the Holy Spirit (tool #1) the questions, why (tools #3 or 13) would Paul use the word "originate" in order to clear up an issue concerning a custom that had to do with "honor?"
Let's begin with 1 Corinthians 11:11
"However, in the Lord, neither is woman independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as the woman originates from the man, so also the man has his birth through the woman; and all things originate from God".

John gave some outstanding examples of true humility. He displayed it in his own life and then taught it to his disciples who had a momentary cranial slip from the right way. They momentarily laps into the realm of pride.
God gives a list in Proverbs 6:16-19 of the seven things He hates most. The very first one listed is PRIDE. The one thing that God hates more than any other sin that a man can commit is pride. He despises human pride.

THE TOOL SHED
When we come t o passages of Scripture that raises controversies, it is important to study to show yourself approved unto God, not just take someone's word for it.
The Holy Spirit has equipped believers with a number of tools to help us come to proper exegesis.

2 Timothy 2:15
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth." If we are to learn the true intent of the bible writers and not the bias views of denominations then, it is up to each of us as students of God's word to examine the Scriptures regularly. We need to be like the bereans to see if the teachings of others truly line up with God's word.
The above passage reveals a few important facts

THE TRIBULATION
Things to take note of:
1. THE CHURCH IS THE BRIDE OF JESUS.
a. Because of the transgression of Israel, salvation came to
the Gentiles to make Israel envious. (Ro 11:11)
b. The period between Pentecost (Acts 2) and the actual
gathering up (Rapture) of the Church (1 Thess 4:13-18),
is known as the "Church Age" and is primarily made
up of Gentiles.
c. During the Church age, Israel as a nation, has been
temporarily put aside. The Jewish people have
been scattered all over the earth as a result of discipline
( 70 A.D., Ezek. Deut. Zech. & Matt.) Individually they can be
saved during the church age (Rom 11).
d. Under the church age, the law with its demands have been
set aside (since it was never intended for Gentiles, Acts 15) and as a
result of the death and resurrection of Christ "grace" was now
the mode of ope-randi.
e. The Church age ends when the Church (the Bride of Christ)
is raptured. (Jn 14:1-4; 1 Thess 4:13-18, 5:1-11;
2 Thess 2:1-11; Rev 4:1).

The Lord's REMEDY!!! Or our CALAMITY!!! It is up to U.S. !!!
"At one moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to
uproot, to pull down, or to destroy it; if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the calamity I planned to bring on it.
"Or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build up or to plant it;
if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will think
better of the good with which I had promised to bless it." Jer. 18:7-10

WHAT IS BIBLICAL FAITH ?
"Faith is the daring of the soul to go farther than it can see" It is deaf to doubt, dumb to discouragement, blind to impossibilities and knows nothing but success in God. Faith is the principle element that makes victorious living possible. (1 Jn. 5:4)
The Bible says, "That no man is Justified by the law before God is evident: for the righteous man shall live by Faith" (Gal. 3:11).

End Times and Proper Hermeneutics
By: Pastor Deb
6-23-07
Matthew 24-
One of the BIGGEST mistakes today the Church (body of Christ) has made concerning the Bible is how it should be interpreted. Hermeneutics are the principles that are used for interpreting Scriptures. If proper hermeneutics are not followed, it will result in a multitude of doctrinal errors. Needless to say, some in the Church have far removed themselves from proper hermeneutics in their interpretation of Scripture. One hermeneutic principle is "always interpret a passage in agreement with its context." The context of any given passage is the chapters and verses that surround it. Supporting any particular view by using verses that have been ripped from their original context is known as proof-texting.
